In Bodenlos: Observations from Moscow's Park of Culture and Leisure, I explore how Moscow’s public parks merge historical and modern cultural elements, all while evoking a sense of premonition. Through my lens, I capture a range of social interactions set against the backdrop of Soviet relics and contemporary designs. These parks, seemingly neutral, reveal their deeper layers, shaped by socio-economic divides and cultural contrasts. As I weave these elements together, I sense that the evolving landscape of the park acts as a mask, concealing something yet to unfold. To enhance this atmosphere, I use a track by John T. Gast, slowed down several hundred percent, adding a haunting, distorted layer that deepens the sense of something lingering beneath the surface.
